PANEL 3
The Palagio
The small hill in front of you – called the Palagio – is affected by the presence of an archaeological deposit of considerable interest, still to be fully investigated. Following the path among the olive trees in front of you, you reach the top of the hill. Along the path, the recent cleaning activity on the hill has revealed a substantial stretch of wall made of large pebbles and mortar. On the summit of the hill, on the side facing the Virginio Valley, other structures are preserved, including the wall clearly visible in front of you: if you approach, you will notice that the wall still retains quite substantial traces of intonaco at the bottom.
