Church of San Bartolomeo in Tresanti
Church of San Bartolomeo in Tresanti
A simple and austere 17th century construction
At the center of the delightful village of Tresanti stands the church of San Bartolomeo, a simple and austere 17th century construction in the place where a previous church was located.
The façade of the gabled church is marked by four serena stone pilasters. Two important works were kept in the church, but due to the isolated position of the building they were moved to Montespertoli Sacred Art Museum , exactly in the second room.
This is the depicting canvas Saint Lawrence , work of the first half of the seventeenth century by Francesco Lupicini, and of the depicting canvas Saint Peter , also work of the first half of the seventeenth century, from the workshop of Francesco Curradi. Outside, two large millstones testify to the agricultural vocation of the area.
