Sharing Culture, One Book at a Time

The BookCrossing Project

BookCrossing is an extraordinary initiative designed to spread culture and promote knowledge sharing within the community. Based on principles of generosity and solidarity, this project involves not only local institutions but also associations, clubs, and businesses that have enthusiastically embraced this philosophy.

How Does BookCrossing Work?

The concept is simple: books are left in public places accessible to everyone, allowing anyone to take a book and leave another in return. This mechanism creates a widespread and accessible library, where books travel freely among readers without any financial barriers. In addition to promoting reading, the project supports sustainability by reducing book waste and encouraging reuse.

Community Support

Thanks to contributions from institutions and sponsors, each participant in the project has received a handcrafted wooden box, which serves as a book exchange point and adds an authentic touch to the initiative. Furthermore, the E. Balducci Municipal Library has provided an initial selection of books to populate these boxes, ensuring a varied and stimulating assortment.

Rules for Participation

To ensure the smooth functioning of BookCrossing, each participant receives a “user manual” that establishes the basic guidelines:

  • Take a book, leave a book: every time you take a book, you are encouraged to leave another, contributing to the growth of the project.
  • Respect for books and public spaces: books should be treated with care and returned in good condition.
An Opportunity for Everyone

BookCrossing is an initiative open to all: anyone, regardless of age or background, can participate. In addition to promoting reading and culture, it encourages people to connect, creating opportunities for exchange and discussion about literature.
