The Amedeo Bassi Festival, presented this morning at a press conference at the Amedeo Bassi Museum in Piazza Machiavelli, has reached its twelfth edition and will be staged on 7 and 8 August in Piazza Machiavelli and then concludes with the evening dedicated to Calici di Stelle on 10 August. .

An event that has now become a tradition for music lovers, dedicated to the Montespertoli tenor Amedeo Bassi, who trod the most important stages in Europe and America at the beginning of the twentieth century, interpreting some of the characters of the operas written by Pietro Mascagni, Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini.

Present at the press conference were the Mayor Mugnaini with the Councilor for Culture Alessandra De Toffoli, the Artistic Director Giuseppe Lanzetta and the director Franz Moser, Melania Minacci for the “Amedeo Bassi” Music Academy and the President of the Pro Loco Benedetta for Calici di stelle. Rigacci.

One of the novelties of this year concerns the agreement with the Municipality of Lastra a Signa with the activation of a single ticket that will allow you to participate in both two shows in memory of the tenor Enrico Caruso on both dates and countries. Those attending the event in Lastra a Signa on August 5th will be able to participate in the Amedeo Bassi Festival with the same ticket on August 8th.

The single ticket with two events linked to Caruso, one in Lastra a Signa and one in Montespertoli, represent the first step in the implementation of the Convention between the two Municipalities approved by the City Council. This is the starting point of a path aimed at conserving, protecting and enhancing the reciprocal collections and art collections kept within their respective museums. In particular, through the agreement, the objective will be to mutually promote the figures of Amedeo Bassi and Enrico Caruso“explains the Councilor for Culture , Alessandra De Toffoli .

For Saturday, August 7, the evening includes opera. This year ‘Il Don Giovanni’ by WA Mozart will be staged together with the Florentine Italian Opera Company with the Maestro Concertatore and Director Damiano Tognetti and Artistic Direction by Giuseppe Lanzetta.

Sunday 8 August the concert evening will be, in fact, in homage to the tenor Enrico Caruso, whose 100th anniversary will be celebrated this year. Organized by the “Amedeo Bassi” Orchestra and Choral, two ensembles born within the “Amedeo Bassi” Music Academy with Massimo Annibali, Director of the Music Academy with the music school of the New Philharmonic “Amedeo Bassi”, based in Montegufoni,

The Amedeo Bassi Festival will end with the annual appointment of 10 August with Calici di Stelle: organized and managed by the Pro Loco of Montespertoli which, for the second consecutive year, organizes a dinner with typical tastings and the involvement of some local farms . The expected menu is at a fixed cost of 15 euros per person and the following companies from Montespertoli will be present: Tenuta di Morzano, La Ripa Verde, Colli Fiorentini and Gualandi.
The evening will end with live music thanks to the group, now known in Montespertli, “Deluxe Ocean”.

Memory needs constant attention so as not to let the traces of our past be forgotten. For this reason it is essential that the town continues to tell, through multiple actors, the story of the great tenor originally from Montespertoli. I invite you to come to Montespertoli at the Amedeo Bassi Festival to enjoy an evening of good music in the splendid setting of Piazza Machiavelli“adds the Councilor De Toffoli inviting all citizens to participate.

Tickets for the Festival can be booked at the Montespertoli Tourist Office (also by calling 0571600255) or can be purchased online through the Ticketone platform.
The reservation for the Calici di Stelle evening is made by the Pro Loco of Montespertoli by calling the number 3391770715.
