As usual, the project “A veglia sulle aie” – Awake in the farmyards, is the outcome of Montespertoli Municipality’s will to enhance the farms , which are one of the territory’s cornerstones, cultural and social driving forces.
Farms of all sizes have always been the setting for staying awake on the farmyard, an ancient ritual of the Tuscany which nowadays is once again at the heart of the summer in Montespertoli.
Thanks to this event, from June to September, Montespertoli has a farm open to the public every day. In many of these farms it is possible to eat the Bread of Montespertoli, made with ancient cereals, thanks to a project that moved its first steps on these very hills.
This event conforms to some basic principles.
The respect of a specific quality guideline :all the food served during the events must be local and produced in respect of the environment. Affordability: during the event a glass of wine, no matter how excellent, will cost no more than € 5. In order to take part to the event a farm must produce its own wine and not just work as an accomodation facility.
