On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the City of Montespertoli, in collaboration with the P.A. Golden Cross and the Lilith Help Center, presents an emotional theatrical performance entitled“Rosa Rossetto: from Women for Women.”
The event will be held on Nov. 25 at 4:30 p.m. at the Montespertoli City Council Hall and will be supported by the “Sin Miedo” choir. This initiative aims to raise community awareness of the persistent issue of gender-based violence through an engaging artistic experience.
“Pink Lipstick” is not just a show, but a story inspired by the story of Helena Rubistein, the entrepreneur who made makeup history. The title itself reflects the goal of this performance, interpreted by Giovanna Vannini, Lara Lazzeri and the Lilith Women’s Aid Center: to unite women through the symbolic power of Helena. Graphics for the initiative were created by Tatiana Baccetti.
Helena Rubinstein, a true pioneer in her field, left an indelible mark on the world of make-up and established herself as a revolutionary entrepreneur. His bold vision radically transformed the concept of makeup, helping to redefine beauty standards. In addition to being a creator of trends in cosmetics, Helena Rubinstein has distinguished herself by her extraordinary personality and charisma.
In the context of the late nineteenth century, a time when women were struggling for emancipation, Helena Rubinstein took a leadership role. He took control of his own destiny, becoming a symbol of independence and determination for successive generations. Her approach to makeup was not only aesthetic but extended to a philosophy that promoted women’sself-expression and autonomy through makeup.
“Every year, on this particular day, our thoughts go out to the many women who have suffered and are suffering any form of violence in their daily lives. We believe that in addition to the theme of advocacy and protection of women in critical situations, it is important that November 25 is also an opportunity to talk about autonomy and independence in choices and women’s empowerment. It is necessary to bring to attention the intimate and necessary link between exiting violence and regaining full autonomy socially and economically. The process of empowerment, aimed at ensuring the overall well-being of women, assumes fundamental importance in order to make any pathway of support and exit from violence truly concrete and efficient” states
Alessandra De Toffoli
Councillor for equal opportunities
Her legacy is not only limited to cosmetic products, but represents a significant chapter in the history of women’s empowerment. His inspiring story continues to be a beacon for those who seek to challenge convention and pursue their potential.
